The famous and spectacular sand dunes of Maspalomas extend over a mile inland,  therefore the splendid sandy beach which runs virtually unbroken eastwards towards Playa del Ingles is always a bit of a hike from the various attractive and varied apartment complexes - but it is truly worth it, anyway there is a good bus service for those who wish to forego the exercise.   

There are plenty of shops, bars and nightlife in the many commercial centres, and when you are tired of soaking up the sun around the pool, you can play golf, go horseriding, play tennis, or just go shopping! and when you are tired of that - well there's always the Aquapark and Holiday Fun World.
